TEAM NEWS

     TEAM made its inaugural visit to California in early January. Randy Brannon, father of SES alum John Brannon, coordinated the Central California Conference on Christian Apologetics which took place at Grace Community Church in Madera and Campus Bible Church in Fresno. TEAM presented several apologetic topics including God’s Existence and Nature, God and Science, the Problem of Evil, the Top 10 Objections to Christianity, and many more. The TEAM consisted of Simon Brace, John Brannon, Dr. Alex McFarland, Bryan Wilson, and Lanny Wilson.  

     TEAM also had the opportunity to minister at a couple of local High Schools. Alex gave inspirational and motivational talks at Madera South High School, Madera High School, and Chowchilla High School. As great as this opportunity was, the experience reinforced the perception that today’s youth are more difficult to reach than in years past. It will take concentrated and deliberate efforts on the part of the church and family and a move of God to penetrate a culture that is more concerned with entertainment than truth and respect.  

 

    Our last engagement was a youth rally at Valley Central Church in Madera. There were over 300 in attendance and the Spirit of God was working. Simon and Alex each delivered challenging and thoughtful messages to the crowd mostly of teenagers. When all was said and done, about twenty youth accepted Christ and dozens more rededicated their lives. What a special time! 

     The events were received with great appreciation and we have already been invited back next year. Plans are already in the works to get TEAM on the campus of Fresno State and several other churches. Please pray that God will bless the kind and gracious individuals that minister in central California. May God allow TEAM the opportunity to go back and continue the work in which God has entrusted us.
